Ambajogai Villa Beed

Project details

AMBAJOGAI VILLA | BEED

With the plot overlooking the main road, the greatest challenge in this villa design was to have large windows and openings on the side of the road and yet maintain privacy, given the private nature of the villa.

The design of the villa is such that the ground floor comprises a living and dining room that open into the garden area. On the back side are the kitchen area, the servant room and a guest room.

As we go on the first floor, the villa has a courtyard space overlooking the garden, that extends upto the terrace. The two bedrooms on the first floor of the villa open into the courtyard. The 2nd floor has a master bedroom and another bedroom that overlook the courtyard space. The masterbedroom has a balcony towards the garden space.

The elevation of the villa is an interesting conceptualisation with two arches on the front. The materials used include brick cladding - giving the villa an earthy feel. The placement of the garden area and the courtyard spaces help in providing large openings while maintaining the privacy of the spaces inside the villa. The windows are inwards looking and designed considering the weather protection. This eliminated the need for having chajjas that may protrude and interrupt the elevation design. This inward looking window design also ensures ample light and ventilation in the space.
