Why Choose an Architectural Firm that Believes in Humanitarian Architecture?
UB Architects is not just an architectural firm with a two-letter acronym, but a special team that genuinely believes in giving back to society. We care about the impact we make in the community. When you work with a firm with such beliefs, society benefits along with you. Architects with such mindsets are more likely to handle every project with utmost care and compassion. We thus keep the human element at the forefront and endeavor to make the spaces more sound and comfortable.
Supporting and collaborating with us will not only increase goodwill and make you feel positive but also benefit the industry as a whole. The pro bono projects that we design will go on to reflect an understanding of civic duty and compassion and help our communities blossom.

COMMUNITY CARE
Dutta Mandir | Kathora (Dongar Kathora)
An existing temple in Kathora needed renovation and modification. Our aim was to redesign the temple and its precincts in such a way that going in there gives a feeling of calmness. The temple, a meditative and religiously important space for the community, now comprises – Ashthalaxmi murthi, Dhwaja(flag)& Dhuni (hawan room). Alongside are the kitchen & canteen and the Pujari’s room.
The presence of Audumber – a tree that signifies the presence of Lord Duttarey in the vicinity makes the area more pious. Adjoining the temple, we have designed a small garden with the intent of growing flowering plants that can be used not just for offerings but also to make the surroundings gorgeous and fragrant.
There is also a multipurpose hall neighboring the temple that is designed for gatherings. And a plan for future development of bhaktiniwas – a place for devotees to stay during the pilgrimage.
EDUCATIONAL CARE
ROUND TABLE PRIMARY SCHOOL | DAHANU
A school in Dahanu had a shortage of classrooms and inadequate sanitary facilities. Our aim was to solve this issue and work on providing these basic essential facilities. We decided to do that by designing an additional structure to the pre-existing school.
Knit knot architecture partnered with the Mumbai Bandra Round table and proposed a School design. It consists of a two-classroom school prototype for primary and secondary students, with a centrally covered multipurpose space.
The Passage areas outside these classrooms double-up as interactive spaces for children. These passages offer a view to the playground for student spectators interested in watching sports. Our idea is to build an innovative, low-cost scchool for a village by collaboration and construction using locally available materials.
