Artist’s Studio | Mumbai

Being a garage area, the challenge was not just the compact area but also a low ceiling height of about 6-7 ft. The toilet and pantry area are also designed in a compact usable space for the artist. The interior concept was to keep the walls plain white, so that the walls itself act as a canvas for the artist’s paintings.

Another important feature of this studio design was to provide storage for paintings and canvases. The vertical storage spaces ensured efficient and maximum utilization of available space to store. A side of the studio is designed as a mirror wall. This acts like a space for reflection as well as gives an impression of largeness in that area. All the furniture kept in the studio is movable so as to ensure maximum flexibility while working. The sliding door on the other side of the studio is also a mirror, creating an infinite space effect in the studio.
