Villa Scheme | Goa

Project details

CLIFF VILLAS | PARCEM VILLAGE, GOA

The Site: Located in a small village on a mountain in Parcem, Goa, this site is surrounded by a water body on one side and lush green mountains on the other. The entire village is on steep mountains slopes and has a lot of farmlands. Natural rough stones on the mountain and the local homes built using the local stone Chira add to the authentic beauty of the village.

Design Methodology: The design project comprises of 25 Villas, a clubhouse and other amenities. The project includes 3 different types of cabins, ranging from areas of 1600 square feet to 4000 square feet. The massing of the site and the internal road layout is planned while ensuring minimum envaironmental impact – less cutting and filling of the natural terrain and retention of maximum possible existing vegetation. The villas are strategically placed in such a manner that in every villa, the living room and the bedrooms get the view of the beautiful sunset amidst the mountains. The generous living areas have apertures that maximize the panoramic views and sprawl open into lush green lawns, plunge pool decks and large balconies.

The villa design focuses on sustainability and aesthetics and the reinterpretation of the traditional Goan architectural style can be experienced here. The use of locally found Chira stones for the retaining walls, Mangalore tiles for the roofs, stone for flooring, along with a few contemporary materials such as glass for the Windows and exposed concrete for walls give the bungalows a unique contemporary look. Minimizing wastage of water, utilizing rainwater harvesting systems for replenishment of groundwater and the sewage treatment plant to support the water needs of the lawns and vegetation are all factored in.
