Round Table School | Raitali, Dahanu
A school in Dahanu had a shortage of classrooms and inadequate sanitary facilities. Our aim was to solve this issue and work on providing these basic essential facilities. We decided to do that by designing an additional structure to the preexisting school.
Knitknot architecture partnered with the Mumbai Bandra Round table and proposed a School design. It consists of a two-classroom school prototype for primary and secondary students, with a centrally covered multipurpose space.
The Passage areas outside these classrooms double-up as interactive spaces for children. These passages offer a view to the playground for student spectators interested in watching sports. Our idea is to build an innovative, low-cost school for a village by collaboration and construction using locally available materials.
